1. What this is — and what it is not
This document asks for your optional permission to feature your content in Ooni's marketing. It is entirely voluntary: it is off by default, you can decline it or never engage with it at all, and doing so has no effect whatsoever on your account, your visibility on the Platform, your earnings, or any other aspect of your use of Ooni.
Showing your videos and profile inside the app to prospective students is not governed by this document — that is part of the service itself and is covered by the Terms and Conditions you accepted when you joined.
2. What it covers
If you give this consent, Ooni may use the following materials (the "Content") in marketing:
- the videos, photographs and written profile information you upload to your public Ooni profile;
- edited versions of the above — clips, captions, subtitles, translations and similar adaptations.
It never covers:
- your chat messages;
- recordings of your video calls (these exist only for safety and dispute resolution, as described in the Privacy Policy, and are never used in marketing);
- your verification documents or any private account information.
3. Where your Content may appear
On Ooni's own websites and landing pages; on Ooni's official social media accounts (including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube), including paid advertising; in Ooni's newsletters, presentations and materials at education fairs and student events; and in campaigns run with partner educational institutions, where Ooni controls the use.
4. The permission you grant
You grant Ooni a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to use the Content for the purposes in Section 3, for as long as this consent remains active. Ooni may edit, crop, subtitle or translate the Content, provided the result never presents you in a way that is offensive, defamatory or contrary to your honour or reputation. Ooni is not obliged to actually use the Content.

5. Voluntary and unpaid
Granting this consent is voluntary and unpaid. No payment is due for the uses described here, and granting or declining it has no effect on the compensation you earn through the Platform. If Ooni ever wants to run a specific campaign with you beyond this consent, that would be agreed separately in writing.
6. Changing your mind
You can switch this off at any time in your account settings, or by writing to privacy@ooni.education.
Withdrawal:
- stops all future marketing use of your Content within a reasonable technical implementation period;
- leads Ooni to remove the Content, where reasonably possible, from its own websites and the social media accounts under its control;
- does not affect the lawfulness of use that happened before withdrawal, and cannot recall copies already lawfully distributed and outside Ooni's control (for example, printed materials or advertising that has already run).
7. Your data and your rights
The data controller, the legal basis (your consent, Art. 6.1.a GDPR, and Spanish Organic Law 1/1982), international transfer safeguards, retention and your GDPR rights are described in the Ooni Privacy Policy. For anything related to this consent or your rights, write to privacy@ooni.education. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).
8. How you give this consent
This consent is given through a dedicated, clearly labelled control on the Platform, separate from the Terms and Conditions, and switched off by default. It is only active if you switch it on, and it stays editable in your settings for as long as you have an account.
